During this time when many are practising ‘social distancing’, we can all come together for prayer. In Fosse Trinity we are suggesting that wherever we are at 10.00 am and/or 5.00 pm we can have a short time of prayer, knowing that others will be doing the same.
 
 
FOSSE TRINITY MORNING PRAYER
 
O Lord, open our lips
and our mouth shall proclaim your praise.
 
Hear our voice, O Lord, according to your faithful love,
according to your judgement give us life.
 
The night has passed, and the day lies open before us;
let us pray with one heart and mind.
 
(Keep a few moments of quiet)
 
As we rejoice in the gift of this new day,
so may the light of your presence, O God,
set our hearts on fire with love for you;
now and for ever. Amen.

Benedictus (The Song of Zechariah)
 
Blessed be the Lord the God of Israel,
who has come to his people and set them free.
 
He has raised up for us a mighty Saviour,
born of the house of his servant David.
 
Through his holy prophets God promised of old
to save us from our enemies,
from the hands of all that hate us,
 
To show mercy to our ancestors,
and to remember his holy covenant.
 
This was the oath God swore to our father Abraham:
to set us free from the hands of our enemies,
 
Free to worship him without fear,
holy and righteous in his sight
all the days of our life.

and set us free to sing your praise

A Prayer for use during the Coronavirus pandemic

Loving God,
We pray for all those who are suffering because of the coronavirus;
may they know your healing power.
When we are afraid for ourselves and our loved ones, give us
your strength and courage.
When we feel alone and isolated, reassure us with a sense of your presence.
Give wisdom to those in authority and may our community work
together for the good of all.
We give thanks for those who care for others and ask you to bless
them in all they do.
We ask this in the name of Jesus, healer and physician.
Amen
